2007 Lodge Banquet
On January 7, 2007 more than 240 brothers and friends came to Columbus Gardens for the
annual Lodge banquet. During the banquet, we ended one year and began another with great food,
fun, and fellowship. After a great dinner and outstanding ice cream bar, we started the program
with introductions done by Patrick Miles and a greeting from Jim Milhan, the Baltimore Area Council
Director of Field Services. Awards, including service beads, Quality Chapter, and Nentico Camping
awards were handed out to all those that earned them. All those that earned the Leadership in
Service award received recognition by the Lodge. We handed out four Quality Chapter Awards: to
Arrowhead, Chesapeake, The Capital, and Four Rivers; and thirty-six Nentico Camping Awards to
various troops from throughout the council. After the awards were given out, we recognized
those brothers who received the Vigil Honor, as well as the 2006 Lodge officers, and other
special recognitions. One such special recognition was the presenting of a pouch containing
ashes, from the fire pit at the Mystic Circle, to George Naylor by John Crowe III. After the
recognitions were all said and done we moved to the installment of the 2007 officers and the
Chief's greeting. We ended the 2006 year by watching the Year in Review slideshow done by
Patrick Miles and AJ Eckstein. Following the slideshow we presented the founders award to
John Crowe III, Rickey O'Steen, Patrick Miles, and JJ Jordan. Finally, we ended the 2007
Lodge banquet with the closing and we all went our seperate ways.
